Nipah Virus can be detected in bodily fluids such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, throat swabs, and urine through RP PCR.

Bengaluru student in Kerala dies of Nipah in Malappuram

Nipah virus (NiV) antibodies were found in six samples out of 27 collected from fruit bats in a five-km radius of Pandikkad in Kerala’s Malappuram, where a 14-year-old boy died in July. Health Minister Veena George said the situation was being closely monitored. All 472 people in the boy’s contact list tested negative for NiV. No one under observation has NiV symptoms.
