In a country such as India, where millions migrate each year for millions of reasons, a family’s migration history still makes news.
The so-called First Family of the Congress party today lives on a past dynastic history that began from Phulpur, from where Jawahar Lal Nehru, the patriarch, contested in 1952. The Family evolved electorally in a small geographical triangle of Phulpur, Amethi and Rae Bareli and today, it is being taunted for leaving its pocket borough for safe pastures.
