Naxals spotted in Kodagu after 11 years; Police hope for surrender

The ANF officials, however, also speculated that these sightings could even be deliberate attempts by Naxal elements to garner attention.

After 11 years, movement of Naxals was reported in Karnataka’s Kodagu district recently. Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) officials in Karnataka, however, seem optimistic about convincing them to surrender and return to mainstream. At election time stringent checking by authorities at inter-state borders results in the movement of Naxals from one place to another due to fears of getting caught.
