BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde said that to amend the Constitution, the public must ensure a two-thirds majority for the BJP in Lok Sabha. The MP’s remark came six years after he said the BJP would change the Constitution to do away with the word “secular” in its Preamble. Congress accused the BJP of having a “devious” agenda of “destroying” the Constitution.
