A two-month-old calf of a motherless elephant found in Arepalayam forest under the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district will be shifted to Mudumalai elephant camp, forest officials said on Friday, 8 March. The mother elephant died of illness on 5 March. The calf was reunited with the herd but was later found roaming alone.
