AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress criticised the government for lifting a ban prohibiting government employees from participating in RSS activities. The Congress government in 1966 had restricted employees from associating themselves with RSS or Jamaat-e-Islami. Owaisi termed the latest move an act against India’s integrity and unity. The government lifted the restrictions on 9 July.
