Despite discontent, the party's collective aim is to ensure the return of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.

The dissent in the BJP’s Karnataka unit is unlikely to affect its poll prospects, some leaders feel. They said the opposition to Yediyurappa and his family will not affect the party as making Narendra Modi prime minister for the third successive term is the aim. The issue would be sorted out after the elections and dissenters are holding their horses.
