The medical termination of pregnancy of a minor survivor in Telangana on 7 June raises several questions. After a hospital denied an MTP citing legal issues, the survivor’s lawyer approached the HC and obtained a favourable order. The lawyer alleged the 12-year-old had to undergo mental agony following a lack of support from the CWC. CWC argued the foetus had the right to live.
