Karnataka Minister for Infrastructure Development MB Patil on Thursday, 20 June, discussed the proposal for a second airport for ever-expanding Bengaluru. He asked for a feasibility report for the new airport. The existing airport last year handled 37.5 million passengers and 400,000 tonnes of cargo. A second airport can manage the expected increase in passenger and freight in coming years.
