Maoist, injured in wild elephant attack, surrenders

Karnataka native Suresh, who was in the custody of Kerala police, said he wanted to surrender for a long time.

A Maoist, who was under treatment for injuries sustained in a reported wild elephant attack in Kannur, surrendered to the police. Karnataka native Suresh, in Kerala police custody, said he wanted to surrender for a long time. Police had picked up Suresh after a six-member Maoist team dropped him off at the Kanjirakolli Chittari Colony along the Kerala-Karnataka border.
