In a setback to BJP and Dharwad Lok Sabha candidate Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, a prominent Lingayat seer, Gadag Sirahatti-Balehosur Mutt Pontiff Dingaleshwara Swami, declared on Monday, 8 April, that he will contest as an independent from Dharwad. His goal was to ensure Joshi’s defeat, he said. “Whatever Swamiji said about me, I consider it a blessing,” Joshi told reporters.
