Restricting calorie intake is the only known evidence to extend lifespan, Dr Deepak Saini, Convenor of the Longevity Institute at IISc, said. We are consuming more of what nature had not designed for us. It causes a metabolic shift from survival mode to excessive consumption. However, he added that a life that prioritises longevity might not be fun.
