Notification mandating board exams for classes 5, 8 and 9 and rule compelling students to bring answer sheets was issued by BJP government.
Karnataka High Court, on Wednesday, 6 March, struck down the state government’s notification regarding the conduct of board examinations for students of classes 5, 8, 9, and 11. The decision comes in response to arguments presented by registered associations of private unaided schools that such exams contradicted the principles of continuous and comprehensive evaluation mandated by RTE of 2009.
