Karnataka BJP accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of diverting ₹14,800 crore allocated for the Scheduled Caste Sub-plan and Tribal Sub-plan to fulfil its five guarantees. The party claimed on 6 July that funds intended for marginalised communities’ welfare were misused for electoral promises. The chief minister, however, defended the move.
