The Kerala Cabinet, on Wednesday, directed the advocate general to initiate legal proceedings against the Union government’s notification of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The chief minister had earlier stated that the CAA would not be implemented in Kerala. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala approached the apex court for an order declaring the CAA unconstitutional.
