Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the landslide-affected areas of Kerala’s Wayanad district. The two consecutive landslides that hit the Chooralmala, Mundakkai, and Attamala areas of the district, on the night of 30 July, killing about 226 people. The prime minister’s visit comes at a time when Kerala sought ₹2,000 crore in assistance for rehabilitation and relief work in the disaster-stricken region.
