Following certain proposals to control power consumption during peak hours, Kerala has saved around 200 megawatts of electricity on 3 May. Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty highlighted the achievement, saying the saving was thanks to cooperation of consumers, especially big industries. He asked the people to exercise restraint and self-impose restrictions on consumption so that overload doesn’t lead to power tripping.
