Kerala police arrest organ-trafficking mafia mastermind

The victims of the organ trafficking operation were from rural areas and the organs were allegedly removed in Iran, police said in a statement.

Kerala police on Saturday, 2 June, said it arrested the alleged mastermind behind an international human-trafficking network involved in organ harvesting. Ernakulam Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena said 41-year-old Ballamkonda Ram Prasad — a native of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and also known as Pratapan — was hiding in a hotel in Hyderabad.
