Kerala’s consumer disputes panel has asked an ENT surgeon and a hospital in Alappuzha to give ₹1 lakh compensation for the vision loss suffered by a patient following a polypectomy procedure in 2011. Unnikrishnan Nair wanted a solution for nasal blockage, but allegedly sustained damage to the left optic nerve during the procedure by Dr Raju George at Sahrudaya Hospital.
