Dancer Sathyabhama gets bail in caste abuse case

Danseuse Kalamandalam Sathyabhama came under fire from Kerala society over her disparaging comments about the skin tone of a male dancer. In an interview on a YouTube channel, she said men should not perform Mohiniyattam unless they were beautiful, purportedly referring to the recital of a “dark as crow” RLV Ramakrishnan. In a statement, Kerala Kalamandalam condemned Sathyabhama’s comments.
