Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the disbursement of long-overdue social security pensions totalling ₹4,250 crore over the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26. He said that the outstanding five instalments of the social security pensions will be disbursed. During a session at the State Legislative Assembly, Vijayan also proposed an increase in the current welfare pension amount.
