Even though the Southwest Monsoon arrived in Kerala, bringing much-needed respite from the scorching summer, it also brought concerns about potential natural calamities. Kerala is a multi-hazard-prone state, and districts have been asked to monitor hazards. Of the various dangers during the monsoon, it is said that soil piping is the much-feared hidden threat.
