The victory of the two candidates is a matter of formality since the TDP-JSP-BJP combine has a comfortable majority in the Assembly.
The JSP will debut the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council for the first time, while the TDP’s strength will go up to nine after the by-election on 12 July. JSP’s P Hariprasad and TDP’s C Ramachandraiah are likely to win the two berths under the MLAs quota since the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance has an unassailable majority in the Legislative Assembly.
