JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday, 26 April, alleged that cash and gift vouchers were distributed in Bengaluru Rural constituency, especially in Kanakapura Taluk. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, whose brother DK Suresh, is seeking re-election from there, rejected the charge. Suresh is pitted against NDA’s Dr CN Manjunath, brother-in-law of Kumaraswamy.
