CBI filed a charge sheet exposing the fabrication of an espionage case against renowned space scientist Nambi Narayanan in 1994. The charge sheet names five former police officers, including two ex-DGPs, for allegedly conspiring to falsely implicate Narayanan in selling secrets of the ISRO cryogenics program to spy agents. The allegations, which led to Narayanan’s arrest and subsequent acquittal, have been debunked as baseless.
