HC respite for YSRCP MLA Pinnelli in EVM smashing case

The HC order against coercive action came as a relief for Macherla MLA Ramakrishna Reddy, even as eight police groups were searching for him.

YSRCP MLA vandalising the EVM

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday ordered the police not to act against YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy until 5 June. Eight police teams were searching for the Macherla YSRCP candidate, who allegedly destroyed an EVM on 13 May. The act was caught on camera. Pinnelli was told not to influence the probe or witnesses. The next hearing is on 6 June.
