Around 2,000 farmer families from various villages in Ballari constituency in Karnataka handed over their lands in 2010 to major companies including Arcelor Mittal, trusting the promises of a fair price, jobs and a better future. Today, the farmers stand outside the gate, where the promise ended unmet. Their frustration will come out on polling day, they say.
