Four Karnataka trekkers die in Uttarakhand’s extreme weather

There were 19 trekkers out of which four died while the rescue operations were on to save others trapped at Sahasratal, an official said.

Four trekkers from Karnataka lost their lives in Sahastratal alpine lake, situated at an altitude of 4,100-4,400 metres in the upper Himalayan region, in Uttarakhand due to extreme weather conditions, a senior government officer said on Wednesday, 5 June. There were 19 trekkers out of which four died while the rescue operations were on to save others trapped at Sahasratal.
