Five people were arrested for a brutal late-night assault on a former panchayat leader a day ago at Chowara in Kerala’s Aluva, police said on Wednesday. The victim is now in the ICU at a private hospital, with multiple stab injuries. Weapons and a vehicle the assailants used have been seized. Personal enmity led to the attack, police said.
