JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai, elected MPs in the Lok Sabha polls, resigned as members of the state Legislative Assembly on Saturday, 15 June. Kumaraswamy represented Channapatna Assembly segment and Bommai was an MLA from Shiggaon seat. Kumaraswamy is now MP from Mandya constituency while Bommai represents Haveri Lok Sabha seat.
