Eshwarappa skips Modi’s Shivamogga rally, leaves BJP red-faced

The 75-year-old former deputy CM, who turned down the invitation to attend the event, was instead seen visiting maths of various communities.

Embarrassing his party leadership, Karnataka’s senior BJP face, KS Eshwarappa, skipped the Prime Minister’s rally in Shivamogga on Monday. He raised a banner of revolt over the denial of the Haveri ticket to his son, announcing he would contest as an independent from Shivamogga. He blamed veteran BS Yediyurappa and his son BY Vijayendra for keeping his son out.
