Environment takes a backseat in Telangana budget

The Telangana budget seems to have lost sight of the environment. With ₹33,487 crores earmarked for capital expenditure, the Department of Forest and Environment walks away with a meagre share. The general lack of political will to tackle climate change is concerning. The ₹1,064 crore for the Department of Forests is a significant 27.6 percent cut from the previous budget.
