Efforts on to find Hyderabad student missing in US

On 19 March, Arfath's family received a call from an unidentified person who said that Arfath had been kidnapped by a drug-peddling gang.

The Indian Consulate General in New York is working with local authorities to find an Indian student, missing from Cleveland. Mohammad Abdul Arfath of Hyderabad arrived in the US in May last to pursue a Masters in IT from Cleveland University. His father Mohammed Saleem said the family received a call, demanding a ransom of $1,200 (approximately ₹99,744) for his release.
