The Enforcement Directorate has summoned CPI(M) Thrissur district secretary MM Varghese for interrogation in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. The summons came as the party has been battling the UDF to increase its tally in the Lok Sabha. The ED earlier questioned CPI(M) leaders, including MLA and former minister AC Moideen, and Kerala Bank vice-president MK Kannan.
