Election Commission on Tuesday, 7 May, directed social media platform ‘X’ to “immediately” take down an animated video shared by the Karnataka BJP related to the row over Muslim reservation. The EC expressed concern to the nodal officer of ‘X’ over the platform’s non-compliance with the directive that it was violative of the extant legal framework.
