Drugs worth over ₹100 crore seized from TN prawn farm

Officers of Tiruchirappalli Customs Preventive Commissionerate made the seizure from a shed located on a prawn farm in Mimisal village.

Over ₹100 crore worth hashish and ganja, allegedly meant to be smuggled out to Sri Lanka, were seized from a prawn farm’s shed in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli, the Customs Department said on Monday. The contraband in 48 bags contained 99 kg of hashish worth around ₹108 crore and 876 kg of dry ganja, valued at ₹1.05 crore were seized based on a tipoff.
