Drought relief: Siddaramaiah accuses Finance Minister Sitharaman of lying

Siddaramaiah said the state had submitted its memorandum in December and the Union government did not release the relief amount to the state.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday alleged that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman lied by saying that the drought relief fund was not released because of the Model Code of Conduct. He said the state had requested drought relief in December, much ahead of the implementation of the Code of Conduct, but the Centre failed to provide relief.
