The Karnataka government has petitioned the Supreme Court against the Union government over a delay in releasing funds to tackle the drought situation. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the petition requested the court to direct the Centre to release money from the National Disaster Response Fund to tackle the crisis. Karnataka is facing acute water scarcity with many districts declared “drought-hit”.
