The weather office has warned of enhanced rainfall activity over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next five days. Torrential rain on Friday, 17 May, prompted Nilgiris district administration to issue an advisory. They said in view of rain forecast of from 18 to 20 May in Nilgiris and Tenkasi people must “avoid” visiting the areas in this period.
