Decade after bifurcation, Hyderabad no longer common capital

It was unheard of for a new state carved out of an old one to get the old capital, but Telangana — not Andhra Pradesh — got Hyderabad.

On 2 June, the 10-year period for Hyderabad being the joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh expires. From this Sunday, Hyderabad becomes the sole capital of Telangana. Andhra Pradesh needs its capital and the new incoming government has the task of clearing the capital blues, whether one or three capitals or if Hyderabad remains the capital for some more time.
