Actor Darshan, his close friend and actor Pavithra Gowda, and 12 of his close associates were arrested on 12 June for the murder of the 33-year-old fan of the actor.

A delegation of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) visited the family of Renukaswamy on 15 June and handed them ₹5 lakh as compensation. Actor Darshan his close friend and actor Pavithra Gowda and his associates were arrested for the murder of Renukaswamy. According to KFCC President NM Suresh, they would take action if Darshan is found guilty.
