Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, on 1 July, claimed that the new criminal laws were passed “forcibly” after suspending 146 MPs in the Lok Sabha, and asserted that the INDIA bloc would not allow such “bulldozer justice” to prevail in the country. Chidambaram also slammed the government saying it was another case of “bulldozing” laws and replacing them without adequate discussion and debate.
