CPI(M) leader calls for protecting party’s national status

Senior CPI(M) leader AK Balan on Saturday said attempts were being made to destroy the Left, which provides an alternative to the communal and corporate forces. He added that the party should retain its national party status by garnering more votes and seats. He said if the CPI(M) loses its national status, the party’s symbol would be changed.
