Counterfeit notes worth ₹30.92 crore seized in Bengaluru

Police said the gang used to target trusts promising them to get ₹1 crore under the CSR fund of various companies if they provided ₹40 lakh.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru seized counterfeit notes with a face value of ₹30.92 crore and arrested five persons, Bengaluru police commissioner B Dayananda said on Monday, 8 April. Police said the gang used a new way of cheating by targetting trusts, promising to get them ₹1 crore under CSR funds of companies if they provided ₹40 lakh.
