Jorhat (Assam) MP Gaurav Gogoi has been appointed as the Congress Parliamentary Party deputy leader in the Lok Sabha.

Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi wrote to the Speaker informing him about the appointment of the deputy leader, chief whip, and two whips for the party in the Lok Sabha. Gaurav Gogoi has been appointed as the party’s deputy leader. Eight-time MP Kodikunnil Suresh has been appointed the party’s chief whip. Manickam Tagore and Dr Mohammad Jawaid have been appointed as whips.
