The motive is yet to be confirmed. However, differences between the couple, including in some financial matters, are suspected to have made Rupa Devi resort to the extreme step.
Though Rupa Devi was rushed to a hospital, she was declared dead on arrival. The couple had married about 12 years ago.
Congress MLA Medipalli Satyam’s wife Rupa Devi was found dead at their residence in Panchasheel Colony in Alwal on Friday, 20 June. Police said she died by suicide. The MLA rushed home but was too late. Police said Rupa Devi hanged herself. Her mother and children were at home at that time. Differences reportedly cropped up between the couple recently.
