Congress: Got I-T notices of over ₹1,800 cr, it is ‘tax terrorism’

It accused the ruling BJP of indulging in 'tax terrorism' to financially cripple the opposition party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress on Friday, 29 March, said it has received fresh notices from the income-tax (I-T) department, asking it to pay ₹1,823.08 crore. It accused the ruling BJP of indulging in “tax terrorism” to financially cripple the opposition party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Congress countered I-T should raise a demand of over ₹4,600 crore from BJP for violations.
