CPI(M) sources said that Vijayan intended to reference Achuthanandan's 'Amul baby' remarks against Gandhi through his 'old name' jibe.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, on Friday, 19 April, recalled “an old name of Rahul Gandhi” to attack the Congress leader, who had a day earlier wondered why the Centre had not jailed Pinarayi, unlike two other Opposition chief ministers. CPI(M) sources said that Vijayan intended to reference Achuthanandan’s 2011 ‘Amul baby’ remarks against Gandhi through his ‘old name’ jibe.
