Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar on Wednesday, 10 April, did not rule out the possibility of Congress backing Fakira Dingaleshwar Swami of Shirahatti Fakkireshwar Mutt who announced contesting against Union Minister Pralhad Joshi from Dharwad. “Chief Minister and I will discuss it by today or tomorrow”, he said. The seer accused Joshi, a Brahmin, of “suppressing” Veerashaiva-Lingayats and other communities.
