Cholera confirmed, B’lore Medical College hostel warden suspended

Of the 47 admitted, 21 are still in the hospital and samples of 10 students are awaited. Water samples from the hostel tested negative.

Two postgraduate resident doctors of the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute womens’ hostel have tested positive for cholera. Another student’s culture report is awaited, while the preliminary test has tested positive for cholera. As many as 47 students were admitted to Victoria Hospital with symptoms of cholera. After cholera was confirmed, authorities suspended hostel warden Dr Akhilandeshwari from service.
